Smoky Mountain Wedding FAQs

Smoky-Mountain-Barn-WeddingHow many guests can Pure Water Farm accommodate?

Our beautiful crafted wood barn can seat up to 100 guests for a plated or family style dinner with a dance floor. For smaller parties we can also accommodate a buffet table.  If you’re expecting more than 100 guests, we can add a tent to your rental order, allowing for 220+ guests.

Are tables and chairs included?

Yes! We include tables and chairs for up to 100 guests.  For additional items, please choose a rental company from our preferred vendors list and they will provide additional seating for a reasonable cost.  Our vendors will also deliver, set-up, and take-down chairs and tables after your event.

What does rental of the farm include?

At Pure Water Farm, we want your special day to be an unforgettable and stress-free experience. When you book your wedding with us, you will receive up to one full year of wedding planning at no additional cost. Your wedding planner can help you create the event of your dreams.  Smoky-Mountain-History

Planning services include: reception design, ceremony and rehearsal decor, vendor confirmation, and event day set up. Brides and grooms will even be able to choose decorations for their ceremony and reception from a collection of over 5,000 items including centerpieces, easels, vases and lanterns, and more!  Your planner takes care of all the details so you and your guests may enjoy the day.

You may choose to use the barn for your ceremony or reception. Please note, the barn is not air-conditioned, however there are plenty of doors and windows to allow the air to circulate.  In colder weather, the barn is heated and has heated floors!

The barn includes up-lighting and a state of the art sound system. We recommend a DJ, to keep the party moving and to serve as an emcee.  However, if you’re not dancing or are having a smaller, relaxed affair, you’re welcome to plug in an iPod.  Your DJ is also welcome to plug into the sound system.

The bridal party will be provided a one room cabin to dress in, and relax before the wedding. The groom and groomsmen can hang out in the barn or the schoolhouse prior to the ceremony.

If you would like to schedule an engagement photo session at the farm, you may do so at no additional expense. Imagine being able to share your engagement photos on your “Save The Dates” or wedding invitations, knowing you took the photos in the same place you will be married!

For the safety of your guests, on the day of the event, an off-duty policeman will be posted in the parking lot and surrounding area to protect the guests’ property and prevent intoxicated persons from driving home. There is no additional charge for the added protection of you and your guests.

Are there any requirements for booking?

As is common with most venues, event insurance is required, with Pure Water Farm named as additional insured.  This policy protects you and the farm if one of your guests is hurt. You can compare the cost of getting a rider on your home insurance policy, or purchasing a policy from WedSafe.

A $500 refundable security deposit is also required paid two weeks before your event.  If your event ends on time and the farm is left with no trash or damage, the $500 will be refunded.

Is there a time-limit the length of the event?

There is no time limit for use of the farm on your wedding day. However, please note due to certain restrictions by law, alcohol cannot be served more than 5 hours.  In addition, all events must end by 10PM, and all vendors must be off property  by 11PM.

Do you have preferred or exclusive vendors?

smoky-mountain-caterersFor your convenience, we provide a list of preferred vendors who are familiar with our property. They are approved for their excellent track record as wedding professionals, and we have proof of insurance, licensing, etc. on file.

If you choose a caterer who isn’t on our preferred list, Pure Water Farm must check references, insurance, and licensing.

Please note that only licensed and insured professional vendors will be allowed to work events or provide food service. Food may not be dropped off and parties may not provide their own food. For liability purposes, if alcohol is to be served, it must be served by a licensed and insured bartending service.

Why should I chose to get married at Pure Water Farm?

We are a unique wedding venue with a limited number of weddings per year. If you love the idea of getting married in a gorgeous farm and mountain setting, we can’t imagine a more perfect place. Visitors remark on how peaceful and spiritual our property is, and we offer a number of custom options to create a one-of-a kind, unforgettable day for you and your guests.

Since Pure Water Farm is a sustainable working farm built after one of the Smoky Mountain’s first settlements in the 1700’s,  we can offer you and your guests an experience unlike any other. For example, your guests will be served water from one of the artesian wells on the property- it’s the purest water in the Smoky Mountains! You can also offer your guests, fresh, incredible food by serving them farm-to-table with seasonal crops from our field!

Please note that the event venue barn is newly constructed in an old style from recovered wood and has never been used for animals. It is new and clean.

Since Pure Water Farm has an incredible history, you and your guests will take part in a long-standing tradition on the farm. The schoolhouse on site is restored from the original building on the property during the 1700’s. The original building hosted many celebrations, including weddings. During that time, following the ceremony, settlers would ring a large iron bell on top of the roof of the building in celebration of the newlyweds. We love to recreate this tradition for you and your guests today by ringing the bell atop the schoolhouse as brides and grooms are announced as husband and wife.

Imagine the following unique touches on your wedding day:

      • Refresh your guests with water drawn from our artesian well. It’s the purest water in the Smoky Mountains.
      • We’ll ring our schoolhouse bell at the end of your ceremony to celebrate the fact that you’re Mr. & Mrs.
      • Serve your guests farm to table vegetables from our seasonal crops.
